Brief presentation of the institution

EPFL is an engineering university that is active in education and research. It is a public institution founded in 1969 that educates approximately 10 000 students (Bachelor, Master, and PhD students). It encompasses 5 schools: engineering, basic sciences, life sciences, architecture, civil and environmental engineering, and computer and communication sciences. Within these five schools there are 28 institutes and 354 laboratories.
